Bethesda's Future Plans Leaked, New IP Called Starfield Coming this Year

Bethesda Softworks seems to have planned at least two new announcements for E3 2017 and one of these could be linked to a new IP known as Starfield, a futuristic RPG to the space setting.

As reported by a self-styled insider on 4chan, the publisher may have in reserve a new intellectual property for this E3: according to reports, the game in question would be called Starfield, and it would be a science fiction RPG and a open world title in the style of Bethesda, with first person view.

The news comes from the board of 4Chan and must be taken with proper precaution. According to the author of the leak, Starfield would be a sci-fi role-playing game that would incorporate part of the mechanics already seen in series like The Elder Scrolls and Fallout.

The New Space Opera of Bethesda would be under development for many years, the work seems to have started shortly after the launch of Fallout 3 but only after the conclusion of Fallout 4 the team would have accelerated the development.

The source also talks about a sort of “interconnected universe” focused on Starfield, The Elder Scrolls and Fallout, even though it is not clear how Bethesda intends to link these three series. Finally, it was revealed that the company is currently working on The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim VR, The Elder Scrolls VI and a role playing game set in the world of Game of Thrones. Even Elder Scrolls VII would be currently in the concept stage.

As usual, we invite you to take this rumor with a pinch of salt, waiting for official confirmation or denial from the publisher. Bethesda will hold its conference of E3 2017 on Monday, June 11 at 9 PM PT, so in less than ten days we will know more.
